Meet Rafe, a 24-year-old Half-Elf gracing the world with a modest 6’3" frame, lean and agile. His unassuming charm, accentuated by soft waves of raven-black hair and azure eyes conceals a reservoir of contemplative intellect.
Clad in Mithral Half-Plate adorned with owlbear feathers, Rafe’s attire hints at a deeper mystery tied to his innate sorcerer abilities. The Fateclasp on his right arm, an enchanted bracer, resonates with arcane forces, linking him to multiversal versions of himself. A destiny shared across realms, marked by ever-growing tattoos that glow when his arcane abilities unfurl.
On his armor rests a discreet yet symbolic dragon head emblem, denoting his dedication to The group. His custom blue cloak, with a plume of owlbear feathers, adds an extra layer of intrigue, subtly symbolizing his devotion and allegiance to The Order of the Owlbear. At his waist, a dark brown bag of holding adorned with custom owlbear embroidery hides treasures beyond anyone’s dreams.
In combat, Rafe summons his elusive sword, an item, a weapon that remains shrouded to outside observers until the moment it’s needed, ever ready to answer the call. Alongside this mysterious blade, he conceals the magically expanding shield named Infinity within his ensemble. An enchanted safeguard that unfolds to protect him when the need arises.
Yet, beyond the enigmatic elements, Rafe’s true magic lies in his ability to connect with people. His wit and charisma, seamlessly woven into conversation, create a magnetic aura. Whether recounting tales of adventure or sharing a quiet moment, Rafe’s interactions leave an indelible mark, making him not just a skilled individual but a beacon of camaraderie in the grand saga of life. The Fateclasp, glowing tattoos, the dragon head emblem, Trespasser, and the shield Infinity become silent witnesses to the interconnected destinies and enigmatic powers that shape his journey, while his charm weaves an enduring connection with those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Biography
Not much is known about where Rafe was born. Only entries in an old journal hold the secrets of a lost past in which Rafe knows almost nothing about. While Rafe may have no true memories of his parents, his adopted family would be found in an orphanage where he met the young human named [character:7198630|Damien]. Their connection was instantaneous and their bond has yet to show signs of breaking.

Fate, as it were, would find bandits visiting their town near the orphanage, in need of supplies, women, and most of all…killing. Damien and Rafe were out in the woods playing when the sounds of screams filled the air. They rushed back to find the town ablaze, women being raped, and children murdered in the streets. A tremor in their minds began to call to them as if a voice were to say “Now is your time…” and suddenly with newfound bravery, a slit into the void appeared before each of them, displaying what looked like an object hidden within the vale. The call toward the void became nearly impossible to resist as both boys reached in and pulled out swords, arming them for the battle ahead. Just before they were able to mount their attack, a hooded and cloaked woman named Natharra grabbed them and took them away from the chaos. Rafe remembers waking up days later in a strange place. He’d been rescued alongside Damien and taken to the Knights of the North guild hall.

In the span of 10 years, Rafe trained his body, but mostly his keen mind. While not as strong as Damien, Rafe preferred the Longsword, spending his days mastering the art of sword and shield, giving him a great defense and offense in combat situations. His curiosity knows no limits. He was often seen reading and studying far into the late hours of the night about the arcane, and delved deeply into the tales of adventurers that travelled and documented their journeys into the many reaches of the known world.

At first, he found himself being picked on by other kids in his class. His growth cycle was slower in appearance than the other races, but Damien always stood by his side during these trying times. As the other kids learned discipline and the traumatic events were trained out of them, his peers came to respect Rafe as an equal.
He was always finding himself cleaning up after Damien, for his more logical and even keel balanced out the vigorous and tenacious personality of his counterpart. Not to say that Rafe is by any means reserved, quite the opposite. Rafe excelled and greatly enjoyed the social aspect of the in-betweens of classes, dinners, parties, and outings; even sneaking out a few times to events outside of the guild walls.
During one of these nights out, Rafe stumbled upon a lone young wolf in the woods. He did not fear it’s presence, and the lone wolf could sense Rafe and his lack of fear. After nearly an entire night, the wolf, now known as Wynn (short for Winter), curiously approached Rafe and laid next to him, as Rafe had fallen asleep in the woods while waiting for the wolf to make his move. Upon waking up, Wynn was still there and followed Rafe back to the guild where he now resides, sleeping in Damien and Rafe’s quarters nightly.
Finally, at age 18, Rafe became an official Knight of the North. He spent the next 4 years carrying out small missions with Damien for the Knights. His sense of adventure kept him from feeling down about the smaller missions he and Damien were being sent on, and even convinced Damien to think optimistically about their fate.

Finally after 4 long years, Damien and Rafe set out on their first major mission to the city of Mercadia.

Personality
Rafe is a fair tempered young half-elven man; sensitive, empathetic, and mindful of others’ emotional state. He is also charming, confident, and persuasive. Rafe may not perform professionally but he has learned how to play the ocarina, the lute, and knows how to carry a vocal tune among some of the best amongst his guild. His tendency to engage in social affairs makes him a great emissary and diplomat. He also shares a curious nature, investigates current events and will even put himself into situations that he feels may result in a better outcome with his presence. If he sees something going wrong, he is not afraid to face people looking down or bullying others – he will not back down.
During their initial mission alongside his brother Damien Capashan, travelling companion Regan Fernfrond with Chub, they formed a group with common goals meeting Hayden Sconey in Mercadia. They are all equal members of an adventuring group named after Regan’s animal companion Chub: The Order of the Owlbear.
Recently, Regan has devoted more of her time to Arboreal Alliance as a member of their guild, and 6 months later, Rafe can be seen adventuring along side of Brivara Moonglade and her companion Taiveo as the newest members of The Order of the Owlbear.

1 month later, during the hunt for Red Fang, Damien was murdered by Red Fang just before the Order succeeded in killing Red Fang for Sophia Dryden. Damien’s body dusted into nothingness as if he never existed before Rafe could even try to help his brother.
This has lead Rafe in an unknown direction for the first time in his life. Damien left behind only the Shard of Linvala, which Rafe infused into his sword.
