Portrait of Saltannus Vhane

Saltannus Vhane

A famous bard that is known, Altamira says that Wren gives him a run for his money – thinks he is better.

Saltannus, or Tannus for those who know him, is an experienced and handsome bard. Youth clings to him well for a man that claims to be a man in his early 50s, as he would say “Truly gifted by Cosima herself”. Few could dispute this as his wits and ways with words matched his appearance.
He became well known, perhaps one of the most famous bards of this era. His titles, if to be believed included: Vagabond Bard, The Singing Sword, Nightingale, Artful Tactician, Twice-Favored, Kindler of Hope, The Exquisite Blade, and Heartwarder.

The last time Wren had seen his mentor, he said the following:

“Of all my travels and adventures, what is greater than armies, fiercer the storms and older than even dragons?

Why, love, of course. Empires have come and gone; rivers hurled off course, mountains toppled… all for love.
Some say there could be no life without death, and that death must always triumph, it is stronger. They are wrong.
Love is what makes life, love drives the living to their deeds, shaping the worlds in the process. Love is the strongest. Never forget that, or your life is doomed to be a drifting, wasting thing.”

Among the tales he has told Wren one had mentioned Moonsilver. While not focused on it, recollection gives him this information.

“And as I looked upon her, the fairness of her skin contrasting jet black hair, with an air of quiet resolve displayed on her features. She gripped her sword, one of purest Moonsilver. I knew then nothing would deter her.”
