Silaren introduced themselves to The Order by voice first, reaching out in the darkness of the Dreamscape to the mind of Rafe. It was his voice that guided [character:7198628|Rafe] into gathering his friends, the rest of The Order of the Owlbear, into the dreaming world. Through guidance, words, revelations, and promises, Silaren made a deal of sorts with them: for the information they seek, and a path to gain power, they were to help Silaren escape the Dreamscape. It is revealed through questions by Rafe that he is a mental manifestation of the Prime Dragon Magnusalareniel.
It was Melrave, The Dusk Rose that made the decision to trap Magnusalareniel within the hedron network. Somehow his mind and his body were separated and Silaren became stuck in the Dreamscape.
Leading the Order through the omen paths as an idol of an Owlbear, he witnessed the Order overcome the Fields of Regret, as well as an ensuing battle with their old enemies, Miranda of Bones, Red Fang, and Greven, The Endless Hunger.
Silaren reformed into his Dreamscape form and held back the red and black shadowy darkness long enough for The Order to escape.
Much later, Silaren reappeared after The Order obtained The Dreamweaver’s Needle, where a heated conversation between Ulver Swiftclaw and Silaren revealed doubts on both parties. But, alas, they were all stuck, and so, they put aside differences and put forth a glimmer of trust as The Order threw themselves into The Well of Lost Dreams, the next step into the promised path set out by Silaren.
